With support from SPRING Singapore and the Singapore National Research Foundation, SMU's Institute of Innovation and Entrepreneurship (IIE) nurtures an innovation culture through incubation and acceleration programmes, affiliated business mentors and entrepreneurs-in-residence. IIE also helps start-ups raise funds through its Innovation Sandbox and network sessions with angel investors and early stage venture capitalists.
A technopreneurship major and an entrepreneurship track are offered through our undergraduate degree programmes. The Master of Applied Information Systems programme has an IT-enabled Innovation & Entrepreneurship track which tackles topics on IT & Business Innovation, Innovation Management and IP Management. Our Master of Science in Innovation (MI) offers an Asia-focused, cross-disciplinary curriculum crafted for corporate managers, creative art professionals, technologists and entrepreneurs.
Our innovation research efforts are multidisciplinary and well integrated with the activities of schools and research centres across the University. With the growing importance of Asian markets and increasing R&D investments by Asian governments, our research provides critical insights into this part of the world.
